Support a Hunger-Free PA on Nov. 4

Election Day is just two weeks away and the issues that matter to us most are being decided at the polls. Hunger-Free Pennsylvania has been working year-round to ensure that anti-hunger programs statewide receive the resources needed for food-insecure Pennsylvanians. But on Nov. 4, we need your help to elect individuals who will support Pennsylvania’s most vulnerable populations. Today, providing aid to those in need has become politically diverse. Nowhere is that more evident than in the battle over the Supplemental Nutrition Assistant Program (SNAP), better known as “food stamps.” We have seen these debates play out at the state and federal levels. The venue doesn’t matter. Ignoring hunger and failing to support the programs designed to help those in need does not change the fact that more than 1.89 million Pennsylvanians, nearly 560,000 of which are children, have no idea where they will find their next meal. We need to elect public officials who will work harder to address the root causes of hunger, like ensuring good jobs and access to healthy, affordable food. And most importantly, we cannot forget the day-to-day struggles so many families face to put healthy food on the table. On Nov. 4, you have a chance to make a difference in the lives of those families by making sure your voice is heard.
